Tomohiko Sugaya

With overall responsibility for Creative Design and Visual Communications , Mr. Sugaya leads MDA's innovative team of versatile graphic designers. He does so informed by the unusual perspective of his multicultural exposure to Japanese and American markets. Specializing in corporate identity programs and the design of information systems, Mr. Sugaya provides the foundation for developing brands that are and remain memorable in today's intensely competitive marketplace.

Mr. Sugaya prides himself in grasping not just the conceptual and production sides of the creative equation, but the business and marketing aspects as well. This marketing edge - this "being in the real world" - has taught him to work faster and more productively. In his own words, "It's helped me design materials that are not only original and memorable, but actually help sell products and services." Beyond his boosts to clients success, Mr. Sugaya's experience and willingness to teach provides the firm's up-and-coming artists with skills to help them better communicate - verbally and visually -- in an ever more globalized marketplace.

Mr. Sugaya holds an AAS degree from Japan's Kanazawa International Design Institute and a BFA from the Parsons School of Design in New York.
